Introduction
Multiview is a web based utility to enable the simultaneous viewing of near-real time Earth Observation, meteorological and ancillary data. It is provided in the support of European researchers and UK agencies responsible for water quality monitoring, with particular interest to the monitoring and study of harmful algal blooms (HABs), although these data have many other applications including the support of research cruises. Data within the site are predominantly organised within predefined oceanic regions to allow fast access. Alternatively, users can define their own area.
Please note: If you are logged in as 'rsdas_guest' (e.g. via the PML Remote Sensing Group website) then access is restricted to the Plymouth area only. This means that you will only have access to those demonstrations covering the Plymouth area. For full access please register for your own account, registration is free and only takes a few minutes.
The basis of the portal that exists here was originally developed as part of the British National Space Centre supported project (under the ESA Ministerial Preparatory Action) 'Exploiting UK capacity for Marine and Coastal Environment Information Services' (MCEIS) final report. This was a collaborative project between The Plymouth Marine Laboratory, The Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory, The Centre for Environment Fisheries and Aquaculture Science and Satellite Observing Systems with The Fisheries Research Agency and The UK Environment Agency providing assessments and recommendations on usability and ease of access.
